Day 40: Nov 9

I am feeling a bit better today I took two of my antibiotics when we got home, and some Advil for pain until this morning when I can start my steroid regiment.  We basically are going to have another quiet day here at the campground and do a small tour of the area.  I have been taking pictures as we have been places around here anyway and that will be todays blog.
Death Valley is a very beautiful place and has lots of history here. Furnace Creek Ranch is like a mini town in the midst of all the campground area.
It has a gas station…. They love their gas here!!!!!  Since I took this picture the price has risen to$ 4.29
Of course you have to realize the next gas station is 60 miles away.
There is a post office.

They have a museum.

There is a craft fair going on behind here all week long.
There is a store and a cafe.

This is the store that I bought my hat in.
There is a restaurant; we ate here on Sunday for my birthday lunch.  I again picked apart my burrito.
There is a bar a steak house, a hotel and a huge swimming pool.   This town called Furnace Creek Ranch has all the essentials of life.

We took a guided tour of the original Furnace Creek Inn that was built in 1927 and still almost 95 % original.

The views from this place were spectacular. It was beautiful and elegant inside. Fit for royalty.

The outside patio.

And a gift shop.  I played tourist in here and bought a Marie type skirt, a little higher priced then my usual Walmart.  And and…and….. I bought another pocket book.  It is beautiful. And it is me.. and it too was a bit out of my normal price range but… just look at it… its an original Anuschka.
I will have to send a picture of it next blog.. too many pictures for today.

After our tour here we came back home, and I started book number 5 since this trip started.  Relaxing,  reading and sewing is what this trip is all about.  Other then of course enjoying the beauty of this country and all it has to offer and spending great times with my hosts.
I'll finish this in a few minutes I  ran out of space I guess !!!
