Day 50: Nov 19

I woke up to a glorious sunrise.

So I went out and took a few snapshots of this nice quiet place we camped at.  My hosts were still fast asleep.

We said goodbye to the friends we were here to spend time with after a few great days of relaxing and headed out to a new camping area.   We will meet up with them in Yuma in a couple days.
We headed out on our trip about 8:36am.   As we left the campground in Nevada and crossed over the Colorado River into Arizona we lost an hour of time, making it 9:36 immediately.

After a very short time on the road we were on new road for me.

We only had a short ride today just under two hours on the road.   After leaving the beautiful Death Valley, I knew it would be hard to impress me again with mountains. But I took several and I mean several pictures of the ones just ahead of us.  I guess I’m not that hard to impress after all.

We are still in the mountains as we head on our way to Parker and then onto Buckskin Mountain.

The way the south west is all connected is easy to spot when you travel it with a tour guide like the one I have driving me around.

Notice the saguaro cactus on the top of this mountain.. a true sign of the desert only found in this part of the world.
Remember Bill Williams from Williams, Arizona from my Grand Canyon days?  Well there is a beautiful river named after him.
I’m thinking that not only I think this is a beautiful spot. Check out this tiny island.

I bet these places go cheap too.
We continued on our way and meandered through some beautiful areas on our way to Buckskin Mountain.  I again didn’t know what to expect.

We are situated at the most beautiful peaceful campground of this trip. We are right on the Colorado River.

The view from my window.

The view from outside.
After setting up we spent a quiet afternoon reading and relaxing enjoying the peacefulness of this place.

While we were sitting outside this afternoon reading a very tiny butterfly landed on Ms Shirley’s book.
There are mountains all around us and a beautiful river in between.  What more could we ask for.  Well besides tv, internet, and cellphone.  But this is a beautiful stop all the same and a will do again spot.
We are only here for 2 nights but I think tomorrow we are doing a little tour of the area.  So I will have more to talk about then.
Its time for a glass, we have to continue our trend of about a box every 2 days..
Until tomorrow,
Marie.
