Day 45: Nov 14

Its Sunday morning and the sunrise is beautiful here in Death Valley;

I wandered around outside about 6:00am to say goodbye to all this beauty as we are leaving this morning.

I want to catch up on a few things that I may have mentioned in an earlier blog about the mountain ranges and canyons being ideal for space movies and sci-fi movies.  Well did I peg it again, there have been numerous sci-fi and ghost movies filmed here since as long ago as the 50’s.   But one of the most famous films filmed here in 1977 was Star Wars….. Man oh man am I good!!!!
I told my brother Mike that they probably landed on the moon here too…. He just chuckled.  That we will never know.
Now as daylight arrived I took another picture of the mountains.. surprise surprise.

Shirley and I went to the Sunday Morning Inspirational sing before we headed out.  That was so good and when Belinda Gail sang Amazing Grace A cappella it vibrated off the canyon walls.
This started my day off on a very high note.
We finally headed out our long trek into Pahrump, about 60 miles by about 9:52 am.

I still am fascinated by the mountain formations and colors.

I said good bye to Death Valley for this year.  But I promise not forever.
We reached out destination of Pahrump before noon which was good I said hello again to Mount Charleston.

After lunch, a very long hot shower, my laundry, and publishing of some back logged blogs I think its time to relax with my hosts and enjoy a glass.
Tomorrow we head out to Laughlin, Nevada again for 4 days of rest and to visit with some friends of Mike and Ms. Shirleys.
Until then,
Marie
