Day 41 through Day 43: Nov 10~Nov 12

Today is Wednesday and I am feeling a little better.. Faithfully taking my pills.  The campgrounds are filling up fast as more and more people come to this amazing place on earth for the 61st Annual  49ers Encampment.

The festivities started today with a couple different venues.  We went to a Ranger talk on the Ghost towns of Death valley.  And in the afternoon out on the visitors center patio we had some live music. Yodeling and all.

And the evening we had a multi singer show.  This is Belinda Gail.  She was great and was named  top Western Music singer of the year.

Thursday we had the big costume contest.  I had been saying that I would feel like a big white elephant will be on show.  No really my dress and all my efforts are great.  But with all the undergarments it sure isn’t slimming.
Well the big white elephant didn’t arrive… “BIG BO PEEP” did.

And we had Tall Miss Muffet…………

And with Our Blue Ribbon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are art shows, auctions, craft shows and lots of music here every day.
We had a wagon train come in after about 7 days on the trail covering 50 miles.

And a group of riders riding 125 miles in 5 ½ days to the encampment.
I’m not sure how far this guy actually traveled…

But for me this whole Death Valley trip has been spectacular.  And I met some interesting and great people.
This couple has been attending the 49ers Encampment for 22 years. They have been married for 76 years, met at age 9 been together ever since. And are both 96 years young.  God Bless Them.

After the parade we went to check out the art work.  There are some talented people in this country.  I didn’t buy anything… this year.
This I hope is not my one and only 49ers Encampment… this place is just too beautiful never to visit again and so much I still want to see and experience.
My Trip here isn’t over yet tomorrow is another touring trip before Sunday when we head out of the Big Valley.
Until tomorrow.
Marie
