Day 20:

I woke up to this beautiful sunrise
Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest and we took advantage of it.  We had homemade white chocolate scones for breakfast and ventured out to wave to the train.
Shortly thereafter we went to the town of Williams to play tourist. I took a few pictures like I promised yesterday to compare two very different types of Route 66 towns.

Williams is lined with nice clean streets with many places to dine and to shop for your favorite Route 66, Wild West or Indian souvenirs.

I am not much of a shopper but did spend a few dollars in this place purchasing a cute outfit for my granddaughter Sophia.  But as far as Route 66 paraphernalia I have had my fill.
I do enjoy the quaintness of the small town atmosphere and the historic preservation.

We ate lunch in a lovely place called Poncho McGillicuddy's Mexican Cantina the food was great but, unfortunately our waitress was too busy out at the bar to tend to our needs.  This is Williams oldest Mexican restaurant.

We are here in Williams for a few more days I may stop and shop in a few stores we didn’t get to this morning due to impending rains.
This is about all I have to say today as my nose is in a book about the Harvey Houses that I purchased yesterday and now can’t seem to put down.
Thank you all for reading my blog.
“Happy trails to you, until we meet again”
