After a nice long and much needed restful sleep I thought we were not going to have to get up at “O dark 30” but I guess I was wrong. I was woke up about 6:30 am and told we were not going to have coffee in the trailer: Yikes no coffee??? How was I to survive???? I was just maybe getting over my morning addiction to Mass 1 Chat because of no internet. Now no coffee either??? Would I survive the day?
Okay so I exaggerated I knew I would survive one morning without coffee. This no Mass 1 Chat issue is still a toughie for me. This being day number 5 with only 1 evening of chat I’m about to get the DT’s.
I should put a foot note in here that I am a Yahoo Massachusetts 1 room chatter and have been for about 10 years now. I start everyday having my coffee with these folks, many of whom I have met personally and most I only know who they are thru this chat room. But it’s like any coffee shop morning crowd or evening bar crowd with many diverse personalities and likes and dislikes amongst the masses. But it’s also been a part of my life for many years and my withdrawals are real. Not because I miss any one particular person but because it is an addiction like any other. Hard to break. And one I really see no reason why I need to.
We enjoyed ourselves at a Bob Evans for breakfast where I had the privilege of seeing some good ole farmboys in all his glory in his bib overalls and his wife beater tee shirt.. With farm built muscles abound. Very nice eye candy. Yes sir. He started my day out right, making my wait for my morning cup of coffee worth it.
After breakfast we headed off to an RV service center to see if we could find out what exactly was causing the RV to have no brakes. Was it the truck or the RV was the question?
This was a very short trip about 25 miles north of where we are staying and it took about 14 minutes for them to tell us the issue with the brakes was in the RV not in the truck. This was what was needed to be discovered so we left there and headed back south to visit with Uncle Charley and Deloris. We arrived there in time to have a few haha’s and then decided to let Uncle Charley take us out to lunch in his favorite all time spot Jim Dandy’s. He eats there about 3 times a day.. well maybe 2 he may skip breakfast. We had a good time there also, Uncle Charlie does know how to keep a smile or a laugh on ones face.
After that it was wind down time for me I came home and took a very much needed nap on the sofa while Mike and Shirley watched a little TV and started the making of a scrumptious dinner of corned beef and cabbage. My 8 minute nap lasted about 48 and they told me I snored. Somehow I don’t believe them.
We spend an quiet late afternoon with our daily glass(es) of vino discussing the other rv’s in the park and just general talk.
Mike remembers a few of the games we played as kids and having lived “the egg and I” as a child it’s all good. No! I will say great memories. The game he remembered was ‘fox and geese’ in the snow. This is a game where we made a huge circle in the snow with like wheel spokes to the center and the center was the safety. Maybe it was a game you had to be there to play, but to us. It was fun and great memories.
So as today winds down to night I will sign off. I promise keep you posted on our trek west as it continues tomorrow. We head to Illinois and if all goes well maybe park for the evening in Missouri.
