Day 8 Dodge City, Kansas

Day 8
We set out for our destination of Dodge City at 8:10 am.  And arrived here about 1 pm.  As we entered town we saw this magnificent silhouette. Nice way to enter a town as unique as Dodge City.
Now to back track my thoughts, we had a very easy trip from Emporia Kansas to Dodge, no incidents at all, no construction cones, no dead raccoons.  Well maybe one or 2 and for the first time we saw live wild life, a few deer out in the corn fields and wheat fields.
We have had beautiful weather and its suppose to be in the high 80’s all for the rest of the week.
I took my brand new camera and took a few pictures today to figure how to learn it. I will post them on my home page on facebook as I think they are worthy enough.  I will try to insert a couple here so you can get a feel of what I am seeing daily.

My brother Mike, the truck driver and tour guide
This is a shot of the vast flatlands and wheat, milo or cornfields. Miles and miles of this amazing site.  In the back ground is one of about 700 grain elevators.
Miss Shirley the hostess of this trip, she is sewing away on her Death Valley dress

The cats ride in style. Gracie and Gradie (in the front).  Here they finally decided that sleep was better than blatting.

Over looking the next picture of the feed lot.

A feed lot for cattle for slaughter.
Okay this has been just a quiet day other than these few shots. Tomorrow we are going to play tourist in Dodge City.  My brother is afraid there will be poster with my mug shot on it outside the city gates when we leave saying “Marie Stay the hell out of Dodge”.  We will see.
Well I’m going to wind this up for today, hopefully my pictures work on this blog page. Everyone enjoy their evening as I am sure I will.
