Day 6

We started our day about 7:15 CDT, 8:15 EST for me. But the truck clock was changed because some time during the day we would cross the time zone. I really can’t tell you when that happened as my cell phone clock is still at my home time which may make things easier if I decide to call home and see if my house is still standing and my pets are alive and well.
We had a very let’s say “uneventful” day as compared to how things have been going on this trip. NO flat tires. NO truck damage, No trips to a garage or rv service repair center. It was just a nice travel west on route 70. Out of Indiana, into Illinois and then into Missouri.
We crossed over the Wabash River as we left Indiana into Illinois. We crossed the mighty Mississippi into Missouri and then we crossed the Missouri river.
Now that I am safely out of Indiana I have only 2 things to say. One is that the Indianians , hahaha I’m sure that’s not what to call themselves, don’t know how to name roads or streets. Every road is a number like Country road 6 or cr 15 or what ever, or state road ‘st 14’ never a real name like Elm street or Stewart boulevard.. just numbers. They like the number system out here.

And the second thing I have to say is that I’m sure that raccoons are on the endangered species list in Indiana because if we didn’t see ‘seven hundred- forty- leven’ dead ones on the road we didn’t see one. They seem to have a thing for the corn field just across the road even though the one they were in was only a square mile in size.
So we have settled into a large campground in central Missouri for the evening after a very uneventful day. And now enjoying my glass of vino with my brother. I was told not to mention that he just opened box #3 of the trip so far.
Tomorrow we are heading to I think Boonville and then onto Dodge City where we will stay for a couple days. My real trip will start then and I will have I hope some highlites to share with you.
I will keep you updated when I have wi fi so bear with me and I will keep you updated with my adventures west.
