We were up and on the highway at about 7:35am, heading up 33 to Goshen, Indiana to have the repairs done from the flat tire yesterday.
It all started out as a nice uneventful, scenic ride. (If you call flat land and soybean and or cornfields scenic.) We headed up 33 West which was a lovely 2 lane road, smooth, no construction easy ride. We were approximately half way to our destination and about to head up on to a beltway around Fort Wayne when we blew out another tire.
Of course due to the blow out we had yesterday we had no spare. Another call to Good Sam. Another 45 minute plus wait for the man to arrive this time with 2 new tires. It was more like an hour.
I have to give credit where credit is due. This man knew his stuff. He changed those two tires (it was decided to buy the new spare at the same time) and put them both on the trailer feeling that there was one more tire ready to blow. That is now our spare. He did this all in less than an hour and we were again on our merry way. It was now about 10:30 am.
It was discovered that when the second tire blew it did some underneath damage that will need to be repaired before we continue on this trek further west
We proceeded to travel up 33 to Goshen to get the Airbags repaired. Arriving at TrailAire we had a no talker named Steve work on the airbags and he did fine in
short order if short order is about an hour. And we began our way off north to find another campground to spend the night.
North was not our original destination we were supposed to be heading to Greenfield Indiana which is very south, but due to the new damage we had to detour north in hopes that the entire weekend would not be blown while the repairs were done.
This KOA is in Middlebury Indiana. It is a nice place but not the rave reviews as last nights. But we do have free internet and TV and that is a plus.
Tomorrow we will have to be up at “O dark 30” so we can be at the garage to have the damage hopefully repaired starting about 7:30 am. We have not a clue as to what tomorrow will bring until we see the man named Sam.
Our true destination for today was to be in Greenfield Ohio visiting with Shirley’s aunt and uncle. I guess tomorrow is another day. Hopefully the trailer has all its band aids repaired and we head south for a weekend of relaxation.
I will now sit and enjoy my glass of vino with my brother and shoot the gab with him for a bit until dinner is served. And the well after dinner has been consumed.
